About The Position

A Lead Swim Instructor at British Swim School teaches swim lessons to children and adults, starting at 3 months old using our fun, gentle and progressive methods. You will receive extensive training to build your confidence and ability to work with a variety of swimmers and abilities. Having fun and interacting with our swimmers is an important part of the role! A strong focus is placed on providing survival swim techniques living out the British Swim School mission and making a big impact on decreasing drowning.

Requirements

• High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion
• Lifeguard certification (American Red Cross or Starguard) preferred but not mandatory
• Enthusiastic personality.
• Comfortable in and around the water with strong swimming skills.
• Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children.
• Swimming experience: 1-2 years preferred but not required.
• Customer service skills: 1 year preferred.
• Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training)

Responsibilities

• Support the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s)
• Follow British Swim Schools curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons and environment.
• Work M-W evenings (4:45pm-8pm), weekends (10:15 am- 2:30 pm), and holidays as required by business needs.
• Maintain certifications throughout employment.
• Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and stand in the water for up to 5 consecutive hours.
