About The Position

Watson Building Group, LLC (WBG) is a vertical construction company specializing in ground-up commercial, high-rise, multifamily and industrial building projects with a strong focus on concrete-intensive structures and other complex facilities. As our project portfolio continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to manage and lead on-site construction operations. Position Summary The Lead Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day field execution of assigned projects, with full responsibility for jobsite operations, safety, quality, and schedule performance. This role requires extensive experience in ground-up vertical construction, structural and cast-in-place concrete, subcontractor coordination, and building systems. The Lead Superintendent works closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract documents.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience as a Superintendent on ground-up vertical construction projects.
  • Proven experience managing concrete-intensive projects such as hotels, multi-story commercial buildings, or similar structures.
  • Strong knowledge of structural concrete, formwork systems, rebar installation, and concrete placement.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building systems including structural, architectural, MEP, and finishes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large subcontractor teams and manage complex site logistics.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain schedule discipline in fast-paced, high-expectation environments.

  • Proficiency with digital field reporting tools and construction technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout.
  • Lead ground-up vertical construction projects with an emphasis on structural concrete, building envelope, and interior build-out phases.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project schedules, including weekly and daily work plans.
  • Coordinate and supervise all subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure proper sequencing and productivity.
  • Enforce jobsite safety programs and ensure full compliance with company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses.
  • Oversee quality control by ensuring work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and approved submittals.
  • Review construction documents, shop drawings, and RFIs to ensure accurate field execution.
  • Proactively identify and resolve field issues related to constructability, scheduling conflicts, and manpower.
  • Coordinate inspections with local authorities, third-party inspectors, and design professionals.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, and progress documentation.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager on schedule updates, manpower planning, and subcontractor performance.
  • Participate in subcontractor coordination meetings and owner/architect meetings as required.
  • Assist with punch list completion, final inspections, and project closeout activities.
  • Mentor, train, and evaluate field staff including assistant superintendents and foremen.
  • Enforce company standards for housekeeping, professionalism, and jobsite organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by project and executive management.
