We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate Lead Summer Camp Counselors to facilitate a fun-filled program of engaging and safe educational experiences for campers aged 6-13 years. Requirements

  • 18 years of age of older
  • Must be available for the following dates: Invention Convention US Nationals: June 3 – 5, 2026 One shift required Staff Training: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026 June 15 – 19, 2026 Week A: June 22 – 26, 2026 Week B: July 6 – 10, 2026 Week C: July 13 – 17, 2026 Week D: July 20 – 24, 2026 Week E: July 27 – 31, 2026 Camp Wrap-up: August 3 – 4, 2026
  • Must be available to work camp training (could be scheduled on Saturdays), prep week, 5 weeks of camp, and 2 clean up days - June 7th-August 5th, (off week of July 4th)
  • Must be willing to work an average of 5 hours per week remotely prior to the start of camp to assist in the preparation of lessons and activities.
  • New employee training is mandatory at the end of May
  • Lead Counselor hours are 8:30am – 4pm, M-F
  • We are flexible and open to part-time or full-time
  • Camp training is required (can be on Saturdays)
  • Counselors are often outdoors and will be active all day – must have stamina and a sunny disposition

  • Confident supervising large groups of children in structured and unstructured settings

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Special Education experience and/or ELL certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and lead pre-designed programs with the purpose of providing high quality, fun, engaging, safe and educational experiences for campers
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all campers by knowing and applying all camp policies and emergency procedures
  • Effectively lead counselors and volunteers to deliver fun and engaging daily programming
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily attendance and incident documentation
  • Maintain camp spaces, materials and daily flow
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with campers, families and colleagues
  • Prepare in the pre-season by reviewing curriculum and schedules, practicing facilitation, and organizing counselor onboarding during training
  • Uphold The Henry Ford and Learning & Engagement guidelines for program delivery
  • Perform other duties as assigned
