We are looking for a highly motivated Lead Structural Engineer, who is passionate about the construction process to join our Indianapolis, IN team. Requirements

  • BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 5+ years of structural engineering building design experience, ideally in commercial construction
  • Ability to prepare structural designs for steel, concrete, masonry, light gage steel, and understanding of foundation design
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency using Revit independently to create construction level structural drawings is preferred
  • Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA, or another recognized 3D design packages is preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or ability to obtain within 12 months, is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with technical drafting staff, clients, and others outside the project team
  • Prepare preliminary designs for clients
  • Review building codes to assure proper implementation in design
  • Attend client meetings, coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, and mechanical engineers
  • Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents as well as construction
  • Produce construction ready design drawings coordinated with all disciplines to assure completeness and accuracy
  • Manage construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, and coordination with the construction teams
