The Role:
We are seeking an exceptional, highly strategic, and operationally-driven Strategic Initiative Lead to partner directly with the Chief Business Officer (CBO). This critical role will operate as the CBO's right hand to:
Support our CBO in strategic planning and operational excellence across his teams and partner functions.
Drive high-priority initiatives across the organizations that run all of Roblox’ foundational money-related systems (e.g., Advertising, Avatar Marketplace, Developer Monetization, Payments) and business teams (ads sales, Business development, Prepaid card sales).
The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of structured thinking, problem solving acumen, financial rigor, business operations, and a deep understanding of high-growth consumer technology. You will be instrumental in developing complex economic and financial models that directly impact the health and growth of the Roblox economy, the creator community, and the company's long-term value. This is a unique opportunity to shape the core economic engine of a globally recognized, category-defining company. You will work on problems with real-world scale and impact, directly advising a C-level executive on the systems that support millions of developers and users worldwide.

Requirements

• 6-10 years of total experience in highly analytical, strategic, and operational roles.
• Direct experience in a top-tier Investment Bank or Consulting firm, or an equivalent background in corporate development, Finance, or management consulting focused on technology.
• Business Ops Experience: Proven track record of operationalizing strategic goals and leading complex, cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Financial & Economic Acumen: Extremely high degree of knowledge in corporate finance, microeconomics, and financial modeling. Must be comfortable building models from scratch and challenging underlying assumptions.
• Technology Background: experience working within a high-growth consumer technology, platform, or marketplace company (e.g., social media, e-commerce, or FinTech).

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a Chief of Staff or Director of Strategy roles.
• MBA from a top-tier (Ivy League or equivalent) university is a plus.
• Understanding and interest in virtual economies, creator ecosystems/ monetization and platform dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Business Modeling: Partner with the CBO to design, develop, and refine financial and economic models (e.g., opportunity sizing, trade-off analysis, impact estimates,) crucial for supporting product and business tradeoff discussions.
• Operational Execution: Drive the execution of strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives stemming from the CBO's priorities and represent the CBO point of view in different forums and in front of different stakeholders (e.g., Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal).
• Business Operations & Analysis: Serve as the central hub for the CBO's team, managing planning cycles, budget reviews and performance tracking.
• Executive Communications: Prepare and organize materials for the Board of Directors, executive staff meetings, and key investor/internal reviews. Own the narrative and articulation of the Economy, Ads and Business teams’ strategy and progress.
• Stakeholder Management: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the CBO and other functional leaders, ensuring resource allocation and strategic focus are aligned with the company's goals.
