The Storyteller Lead continually researches and develops cooking and mixology demonstration scripts. When needed the Storyteller Lead presents entertaining cocktail and culinary demonstrations in front of a live audience. The Storyteller Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring that Old Savannah Distillery (OSD) standards are upheld; the food and drink look good, prepared correctly, proportions and servings are correct, and all items are prepared and served quickly. The Storyteller Lead is a key player in supporting the OSD senior leadership in upholding all brand standards and core values while meeting or exceeding OSD business objectives.

  • Showcase various cocktail techniques, present dishes, and educate the audience on different cooking and cocktail styles, ingredients, and flavors in front of a live audience while entertaining them.
  • Research (including interesting historical facts) and develop cohesive and entertaining cooking and mixology scripted demonstrations from beginning to end. The demonstration may include using audio and video equipment.
  • Support and assist in the preparation and design of all demonstrations.
  • Maintain the highest standards of brand, local health, safety, food, and drink preparation hygiene requirements.
  • Support the team in consistent execution of all systems and processes to consistently deliver all products and services to brand standards.
  • Ability to work independently over long periods of time and in groups within the scope of established rules and regulations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Comprehend and use technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate complex ideas.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to media, customers, clients, partners, and other employees of the organization.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the hospitality industry inclusive of restaurant culinary operations.
  • Possess all local food and beverage management and safety certifications.
  • Multiple language abilities a plus, fluency in English required.
  • Must pass pre-employment MVR/background check and substance abuse testing.
  • Have a passion for helping people and making their Savannah experience a memorable one.
  • Maintain necessary mandated food and drink certifications.
