About The Position

The Stewarding Supervisor position is a hands-on role that requires the successful individual to lead by example and set the pace for the entire Stewarding Team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, culinary degree preferred.
  • Previous food and beverage supervisory experience preferred.
  • Food Service and Safety Certified.
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand basic directions.
  • Minimum one-year supervisory experience, preferably in a full service Food and Beverage operation.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include AM and PM shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Strives to uphold all hygiene and sanitation regulations, ensuring that all equipment in the kitchens and dishwashing areas are clean and in good working order, being sure to report any deficiencies to the culinary management team.
  • To ensure proper set up for all banquet functions.
  • To ensure that all food and equipment on menus are delivered on time to all functions.
  • To see that utility stewards maintain the areas in which the functions are taking place.
  • To make sure that all functions are set up and ready for the next shift.
  • To formulate and delegate the needed daily, weekly and monthly cleaning requirements of the kitchens.
  • Lead, supervise and assist the Stewarding team in all aspects of the departments operations and ensure that all standards are followed.
  • Receive and inspect food products as required. Lead, supervise and assist with the rotating, labeling and dating of products once they received, and properly stock items into their appropriate storage area.
  • Monitor performance of the stewarding team members and provide direction as well as recommend corrective action when required.
  • Assisting colleagues, steward management and culinary team to work to their fullest ability by managing the resources needed to accomplish the task.
  • Assist with any food safety and sanitation compliance as directed by the culinary management team.
  • Assist with food production compliance as it relates to food safety and sanitation practices as well as guest satisfaction objectives.
  • Conduct job task training as well as required safety and sanitation training with team members - retraining as deemed necessary.
  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner on-duty and off-duty with the awareness that all actions and communications are within guest or staffs view.
  • Maintain effective business relationship with all teams and team members of the convention center.
  • Take inventory of existing china, glassware, silverware, equipment chemicals and food items as required and reports to Executive Chef.
  • Closely work together with the Executive Chef on development of the department according to unit/company objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
