About The Position

Snapology of Johnson County inspires kids to love learning through hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). Ranked the #1 STEAM enrichment program for kids, we bring dynamic programs into schools and community spaces using LEGO® bricks, robotics, and other interactive tools. Our curriculum promotes creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork in a fun, inclusive environment. We’re seeking an energetic Part-Time Lead STEAM Instructor to teach Snapology programs in elementary schools and early learning centers across Johnson County. Classes are typically held during the school day, after school, or right after dismissal. Ideal candidates have classroom teaching experience (or similar work with children) and a passion for STEAM education. This role is perfect for educators, substitute teachers, paraeducators, or education students interested in hands-on learning.

Requirements

• At least one year of classroom or school-based experience (teacher, para, substitute, etc.); camp or coaching experience a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field preferred; students pursuing Education degrees encouraged.
• Must pass background and child abuse clearances.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance required.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Consistent, punctual, and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging, hands-on STEAM lessons using Snapology’s curriculum.
• Create a safe, supportive classroom environment that encourages positive student behavior.
• Adapt lessons to meet diverse needs and grade levels.
• Prepare in advance by reviewing lesson plans and training resources.
• Manage materials such as LEGO® bricks, robotics kits, and tablets.
• Communicate professionally with school staff, administrators, and families.
• Promote ongoing student participation in Snapology programs.
• Attend occasional training sessions and team meetings.
