About The Position

Due to ongoing company growth, we are seeking a highly professional Lead Staff Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for a team of Staff Accountants who complete multiple accounting functions supporting our sales, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation and month end processes. These duties will include, but not limited to, sales review, posting expenses & revenue and general ledger functions including reconciliations. You will also be working directly with the Clinic Managers providing them with world-class customer service. The ideal candidate possesses excellent supervisory and relationship building skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the desire to advance in a rapidly growing company. This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated individual to take charge and own the accounting process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • Minimum two years of experience performing general accounting functions
  • Minimum two years of general ledger, multi-unit experience
  • Direct or indirect supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to independently manage multiple, ongoing tasks and duties
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • High level of technical aptitude including high proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Docs
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to use time management and problem-solving to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-functional team
  • Strong initiative and self-starter capabilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative, team oriented and adept at building positive and influential relationships
  • Knowledge of common accounting practices and procedures, including solid understanding of GAAP

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of staff accountants responsible for all sales and accounts receivable related activities
  • Plan, direct and coordinate the day-to-day accounting operations of the team
  • Oversee the review of daily sales for accuracy and assist with completing, as needed
  • Oversee bank account reconciliations and assist with completing, as needed
  • Assist Clinic Managers with sales and payment processing issues
  • Reconcile monthly sales and accounts receivable and complete associated account reconciliations
  • Participate in monthly financial close process, including account analysis, account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, and balancing accounts
  • Monitor account receivables balances and assist with collection efforts
  • Work with management to create KPI's for the team and then track on an ongoing basis to monitor performance
  • Train, mentor and develop the growing team
  • Communicate issues, project status and other applicable information to management
  • Recruit and hire staff and conduct performance evaluations in collaboration with Management
  • Assist with annual audit and manage the selections process for the team
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed assets, fixed asset schedules and prepare depreciation entries
  • Assist with annual preparation of 1099s
  • Prepare property tax returns
  • Prepare state and local filings
  • Assist with expense report system management and expense report review and approval
  • Additional project-based responsibilities, as needed
