About The Position

The Lead SSC Technician provides technical and operational oversight for the Server Support Center (SSC), ensuring effective system administration, server maintenance, and compliance with cybersecurity directives.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory; Microsoft Server 2008 or higher; VMWare 5.1 or higher and vSphere Administration.
  • DoD 8140 IAT Level II baseline certification (Security+ CE preferred).
  • Must possess or be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance and a valid Counter Intelligence (CI) Polygraph for NSA server access.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the SSC Task Order support and act as the primary contact for all SSC-related matters.
  • Oversee server operations, supporting approximately 26 HNC-TO Mission Servers (various security classification levels).
  • Perform installation, configuration, routine/emergency maintenance, and proactive resolution of software and hardware issues.
  • Ensure patching, server audit, compliance with security technical implementation guides (STIGs), and configuration management.
  • Provide weekly SSC ticket and status reports to the CSO and COR.
  • Lead backup, disaster recovery, and incident response procedures for server systems.
  • Troubleshoot network/server component configuration issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Document all system administration, backup, and audit activity in accordance with established processes
