About The Position

As a valued colleague on our team, you will act as a team lead for designing, developing, testing, and/or maintaining hardware, technology, and/or processes requiring the integration of stakeholder needs and/or existing solutions. THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE The Lead Splunk Engineer role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities: Determine customer needs, and while identifying and resolving conflicting and/or complementary needs across customer groups. Apply advanced skill, knowledge, and experience to design and develop technical solutions to meet customer needs. Use a process-driven approach in designing solutions. May maintain or oversee the maintenance of existing technical solutions There is one opening for this position which can be based in our Reston, VA office.

Requirements

  • 4 years of hands-on Splunk administration and engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of Splunk architecture (indexers, search heads, forwarders, clustering, licensing).
  • Proficiency in SPL (Search Processing Language).
  • Experience with onboarding data from multiple sources (syslog, APIs, cloud platforms, security tools).
  • Familiarity with Splunk Enterprise Security (ES)
  • Solid background in Linux/Unix system administration.
  • Scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Splunk Core Certified Power User, Administrator, Architect, or ES certification(s)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Splunk Cloud.
  • Experience with SIEM, SOAR, or other log management/security platforms.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS).
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools (Git, Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines).
