The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for providing patient care necessary to assure that provision of quality inpatient speech therapy is carried out in a productive manner and to contribute to the goals and objectives of Hamilton Medical Center. Administers speech and swallow therapy including modified barium swallow testing for all age populations. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and competency skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. Responsibilities include patient assessments, developing individual treatment plans, liaising with family members and other healthcare professionals, administering therapy, and monitoring progress and ensuring patients and families are informed of treatment goals and progress. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and assess data reflective of the patients current status in relation to their age specific needs in speech language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Responsibilities also include onboarding of new employees, delegation and supervision of non-clinical tasks, as well as managing daily staff schedules by flexing off based on caseload, managing patient caseload to accommodate work ins/same day changes that occur. This person also coordinates educational opportunities of in services, collaborations with interdisciplinary teams, and assists with marketing projects. Also responsible for performance improvement projects, productivity and clinical outcomes monitoring, and providing input and assist with annual performance reviews for staff. Occasional weekends and holidays required. Other duties as assigned.
