About The Position

A Casting Application Specialist will use your technical expertise to drive developments and maturation of TRL/MRL to manufacture next generation turbine airfoils. In this role, you will engage in cross-functional teams consisting of materials, manufacturing, design, and information technologies to advance airfoil manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years (casting) experience + minimum of 3 years (casting) experience)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Evidence of experience with additive manufacturing.
  • Troubleshooting skills and solution skills.
  • Mechanical, Material experience.
  • Demonstrated initiative and desire to learn and lead.
  • Experienced computer and/or machine programming skills.
  • Demonstrated success in a cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to the Dayton research center 2 days a week until the new lab is built in West Chester.
  • Develop, configure, and optimize casting material and manufacturing systems.
  • Manage project plans and action plans to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) objectives by contributing to cross-functional teams and completing program deliverables.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for projects and tasks consistent with Engineering and Supply Chain policies and procedures.
  • Lead and facilitate regular communication of technical and business information between organizations.
  • Execute projects collaboratively with other team members to achieve technical and business objectives.
  • Apply your expertise in modeling, fixturing, machining, and casting to fulfill technical and business requirements.
  • Support the analysis and evaluations of materials and process development, adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Leverage and promote the use of the GE Aerospace Flight Deck Operating System as the framework for problem-solving and decision-making, supporting pilot and FSE problem-solving with an emphasis on SQDC.
  • This role will be lab/shop focused and will execute experiments with minimal supervision.
