About The Position

The Lead Special Education Teacher (LSET) provides instructional leadership within assigned classrooms and serves as the primary case manager for students. The LSET oversees classroom operations, staff training, curriculum implementation, and collaboration with families and districts, ensuring high-quality educational programming aligned with IEPs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
  • Massachusetts Special Education licensure required
  • Experience working with students with autism
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage staff and classroom systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Compassionate, adaptable, and mission-driven
  • Sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the school day.
  • Engage in active instruction, including floor work and classroom movement.
  • Communicate clearly with students, staff, and supervisors.
  • Move quickly and confidently within the school environment to support student safety when required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure supervision, safety, and instructional integrity in assigned classrooms
  • Serve as case manager for assigned students
  • Maintain compliance with IEPs, ABA best practices, and organizational policies
  • Model professionalism and leadership for classroom staff
  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and school-wide events
  • Develop, implement, and oversee IEP-aligned instruction
  • Lead classroom scheduling and daily routines
  • Oversee data collection and progress monitoring
  • Prepare and present Student Day, IEP, and Peer Review materials
  • Collaborate with related service providers (SLP, OT, BCBA)
  • Ensure generalization of skills across environments
  • Supervise ABA Teachers and classroom staff
  • Provide Behavioral Skills Training (BST) and performance feedback
  • Support onboarding and training of new staff
  • Ensure treatment fidelity and instructional consistency
  • Serve as primary point of contact for families and districts
  • Communicate effectively with EBSC and interdisciplinary teams
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards
  • Maintain punctuality and reliable attendance
  • Meet deadlines for reports, meetings, and documentation
  • Attend required trainings and organizational events
