In this role, you will: Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier relationships of high risk or complexity with significant impact to the business strategy Manage suppliers and relationships from a life-cycle perspective with a focus on reducing cost or spend, increasing customer satisfaction, and maximizing business impact Establish e-business, procure-to-pay, environmental, and Strategic Sourcing cost reduction strategies to continually improve category effectiveness and efficiencies Customize legal contract language to proactively anticipate technology, market and business issues Control all aspects of negotiation and set negotiation strategy Support acquisitions including negotiation reassignment on high risk contracts Participate in the review of closing agreements Lead projects required to ensure legal and regulatory compliance, as well as educate and act as a resource for Contract Analysts with regard to such issues Educate Contract Analysts and business partners on risk issues and handle vendor disputes Provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff Partner with business units to issue and evaluate Request For Proposals and to ensure successful implementation of agreements Partner with business units to ensure standard contracts include corporate requirements Establish and maintain a good rapport with executive management, vendors, and third party lessors or manufacturers to optimize negotiation, savings and service improvements and problem resolution

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Sourcing, Procurement experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with technology sourcing in one or more of the following: Enterprise hardware (Servgy sourcing in one or more of the following: Enterprise hardware (Servers, Storage, Network Devices, Mainframe), Software (on-premises and hosted), Emergers, Storage, Network Devices, Mainframe), Software (on-premises and hosted), Emerging technologies (Cloud, Data Analytics, Generative AI).
  • Experience managing IT specific sourcing activity for hardware and software categories.
  • Experience working with industry-leading IT suppliers, including Dell/EMC, VMware, HPE, IBM, HPI and Teradata.
  • Fundamental understanding of analyzing technology proposals for both existing and emerging technology platforms.
  • Knowledge of negotiation process for maintenance renewals, Capex and OPEX purchases and software licensing (perpetual and subscription).
  • Strong collaboration skills with experience working in a fast paced matrix environment.
  • Strong aptitude in a) Technology platforms and vernacular, b) Contract negotiations - both legal terms & conditions and commercial terms, c) Financial analysis, d) Executive level briefings - written and verbal.
