About The Position

WORKING LEAD ASSIGNMENT The Lead assignment is a "working lead" role, where incumbents are expected to carry out their normal job title functions with additional responsibilities, including the following: Leadership Champion safety and 6S initiatives Champion quality and improvement initiatives Demonstrate excellent communication skills Hold team accountable for following all policies and procedures Stop the work of operators, if appropriate (in the absence of Manager) Provide general coaching and provide input to supervisor/manager regarding job performance Coordination & Planning Develop and practice standard work Manage and prioritize workflow and assign work to team to support TP/LTPO recovery Assign work and coordinate job assignments to best support sales plan and training needs Coordinate cross-functionally with upstream and downstream departments Verify daily staffing and report any staffing issues/needs to supervisor/manager Work with supervisor to identify and address any upcoming or future staffing challenges Assess training needs and coordinate training activity Subject Matter Expert Answer and direct questions regarding part processing Share and document best practices Audit work performed by operators Assume responsibility of routine operations in supervisor/manager's absence Additional Lead Responsibilities Required by Quality/Source Department Complete training and certification for all source inspectors including: Work with the shipping coordinator to designate source inspector workload based off the daily ship plan (i.e., assign packages to each source inspector based on skill, certification, and workload distribution) Ensure that overtime and allowance for changes to planned work schedules (i.e., leaving early for appointments) are elevated to the Quality Manager. Ensure that NDT 105 Visual Over-Audits are completed quarterly. QUALITY SOURCE INSPECTOR GENERAL SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing Shipping Source Inspection of product that is ready for shipment. This position verifies that all customer requirements and specifications have been satisfied, enabling the shipment of the product. This position will interface with other departments as well as customer representatives.

Requirements

  • Ability to become certified to ASI 3001 is a requirement of the position.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated skills in using computer software, including MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of PowerPoint and graphic software helpful.
  • Ability to perform basic dimensional inspection using Calipers, dyers, UT gages, templates and go / no-go gages.
  • Knowledge of the Investing Casting process.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of basic auditing, root cause and corrective action principles.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills with ability to interact with co-workers and customers.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Must meet background and substance abuse screening as required.
  • Ability to complete projects correctly and on time.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree in related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of quality-related experience in aerospace or titanium casting required.
  • Ability to read reports and use computer.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and customers.
  • Ability to write, type, use telephone system, and operate office machines.
  • Ability to climb stairs, stoop and reach to access department materials.
  • Ability to exert up to 35 pounds of force to move objects.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Quality requirements such as ISO9001 and AS9100 as well as customer requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review part processing documentation to ensure product was manufactured in accordance with customer requirements and specifications. Ensures product is in compliance to respective requirements.
  • Review product visually to ensure surface requirements comply with customer requirements.
  • Review and verify dimensional conformance when required by the customer.
  • Complete necessary documentation required for the Source Inspection enabling shipment of the product.
  • Implement corrective actions as a result of internal audits and / or findings.
  • Develop best practices to continually improve the Source Inspection function.
  • Perform other shipping related duties as assigned by management.
