About The Position

The Lead Sommelier at Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Nashville will elevate the wine experience for our guests, ensuring impeccable service and thoughtful pairings with our culinary offerings. This role supports the Food & Beverage team by providing expert knowledge, training, and leadership in wine service.

Requirements

  • College degree, preferably in Hotel/Restaurant Management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in luxury hotels or upscale restaurants.
  • Formal Wine & Spirits Training Certificate or Diploma.
  • Strong knowledge of wine, beverage service, and guest service standards.
  • Proficiency in English; computer literacy and familiarity with food & beverage systems.

Responsibilities

  • Curate and select wines that align with the property and outlet concepts.
  • Lead, motivate, and train the team in wine knowledge and service standards.
  • Serve wine with proper pouring, decanting, and presentation techniques.
  • Ensure all wines and beverages are served at the correct temperatures.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond to inquiries, and provide personalized service.
  • Manage wine inventory, storage, and rotation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in wine service areas.
  • Collaborate with employees and managers to meet operational needs.
  • Support guest satisfaction by handling special requests, complaints, and public relations with professionalism.
