About The Position

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is looking for a Lead Solutions Architect to join the Enterprise Architecture Team. We empower the Federal Reserve business technology landscape by guiding development and management of solutions with cloud-centric strategic architecture. Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in business architecture framework, IT architecture vision development, distributed systems design, and large-scale automation in a highly regulated GovCloud environment
  • 10+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • Solid hands-on software engineering skills with object-oriented and functional programming languages (esp. Python, Scala, Java) along with SQL and no-SQL database experience
  • Experience architecting, migrating, redefining or modernizing solution architecture for large scale business solutions on AWS with an understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework
  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, and software engineering
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Green Card holder with the intent to become a U.S. Citizen
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead evaluation, design and analysis for architecture implementation across a group of applications/technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities, value-streams, business requirements and enterprise standards
  • Ensure required architecture runway, aligning to business product roadmaps, partnering with other architects and system collaborators
  • Lead technical discussions, provide architectural guidance, and influence technology decisions
  • Lead architecture/design/code reviews, define and monitor standard processes and provide guidance
  • Apply business and technical skills to rapidly design well-architected solutions that help system strategy and customers accelerate their adoption of AWS cloud
  • Understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determines corresponding enterprise solution designs and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes
  • High velocity assessment, prioritization, and build of quality, innovative solutions
  • Understand emerging technology trends (GenAI, serverless, Integrated DevOps) and their practical applications to enable evolving business and operating models
  • Lead software architects to solve complex problems and resolve technological disagreements and develop high performance architects within the organization
  • Analyze business-IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, legacy, and technical debt, and recommend solutions for improvement
