Management and staff in Tungsten Automation's Software Engineering job family help the company to build and improve new and/or existing software products and their applications that we sell to our customers. Responsibilities of the Lead, Engineering position include acting as the project person for project status updates and/or other inquiries related to the team's deliverables, ensuring tasks within projects are completed on time and with high quality, contributing to team member identification/assignment, playing a lead role in project scoping, completing regular reporting and project status updates, and facilitating communication and decision-making with various departments. The Lead, Engineering staff must be capable of performing tasks such as contributing to product ideas and innovation, evaluating product roadmaps, conducting research to solve design problems, creating product architecture and design documentation, writing code for software products, testing new or enhanced products, participating in cross-functional activities, contributing to technical publications, ensuring timely releases, and supporting internal and external partners.

  • Act as the project person for project status updates and/or other inquiries related to the team's deliverables

  • Facilitate and coordinate interaction, communication, review, and decision-making with various departments
  • Manage team members within a single function who are direct reports
  • Contribute to product ideas and innovation
  • Evaluate product roadmaps to determine design and programming development requirements
  • Conduct research to solve specific design problems
  • Create product and/or applications architecture and design documentation
  • Write/develop code for new, existing, or enhanced software products and applications
  • Work with various internal partners to test new or enhanced products
  • Participate in cross-functional build/configuration activities
  • Contribute to downstream business activities such as technical publications
  • Ensure new or updated releases are completed on time, on-target, on budget and without compromise to quality
  • Support internal and external partners/stakeholders/customers in responding to technical inquiries
  • Stay abreast of industry and field developments
  • Strong Java language knowledge is required
  • Spring Framework and Spring Boot is a must
  • Strong knowledge of SQL; Oracle is a plus
  • Comfortable working in Linux and know basics of shell scripting and working in terminal
  • Graduate Degree in a related discipline is strongly preferred
  • 7-10 years' relevant technical experience
  • Demonstrable abilities to effectively drive projects from conception through to successful completion
  • Knowledge of Apache Kafka can be beneficial
  • Previous background with AWS or any other cloud provider
  • Familiar with Terraform
