Seize the opportunity to be at the forefront of healthcare transformation with Vim! We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our new Care Collaboration team at Vim. You’ll be a hands-on builder and technical leader, driving the design and development of a new product that connects care teams and improves patient outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the foundation of Vim’s next generation platform.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of full-stack engineering experience, including 2–4 years in technical leadership
• Deep experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and modern front-end frameworks (React or Next.js)
• Proven ability to design and scale microservices architectures in AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Track record of building new products from the ground up
• Strong system design judgment and mentoring experience
• Clear communicator and collaborator across engineering and product teams
• Based in New York City, with ability to work on-site three days a week

Nice To Haves

• Experience in healthcare tech, especially care coordination or interoperability
• Familiarity with FHIR, HL7, or EHR integrations and healthcare data exchange (HIPAA)
• Knowledge of event-driven systems, DevOps, or real-time collaboration architectures
• Contributions to open source, blogs, or talks

Responsibilities

• Build and scale a new full-stack application using Node.js, TypeScript, React, and microservices
• Define system architecture that’s scalable, secure, and maintainable
• Translate business goals into technical roadmaps and deliverables
• Write production-grade code and lead reviews to uphold engineering excellence
• Collaborate with product, design, and leadership to align technical direction with Vim’s broader platform
• Own the full development lifecycle — from design to deployment and iteration
