About The Position

Lead Software Engineer, Systematics (Remote) We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer (Mainframe, Systematics) to join and lead our team. We have engineers that have systems, Mainframe, and software engineering backgrounds. The software engineering role within Capital One is critical to our success and one that focuses on building a highly reliable, scalable and measurable customer experience ensuring continued growth of Capital One’s critical services in the Bank. What You’ll Do: You will be responsible for guiding software engineers on the systematics team responsible for the definition, design, construction, integration, testing, and support of reliable and reusable software solutions, addressing business opportunities Includes systems analysis, creation of specifications, coding, testing, and implementation of application programs and data interfaces Develop complex applications using GN/IM/RM/MA application experience and Agile Requires previous domain experience with FIS/Systematics applications You will demonstrate experience with large scale application integration efforts Ability to influence multiple levels on highly technical issues and challenges Ensures that application designs are consistent with the attributes (including scalability, availability, maintainability, and flexibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)
  • At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree
  • COBOL, JCL, VSAM on IBM mainframe experience
  • Ad Hoc reporting tools (Easytrieve or DYL)
  • Mainframe utilities (SORT, IDCAMS, etc.)
  • 5+ years of professional experience developing batch and CICS
  • Experience with database management systems, SQL, or other automated testing
