About The Position

We’re seeking a Lead Software Engineer who combines hands-on development skills with leadership ability. In this role, you will design, develop, and modernize applications that power our operations, support our 14 production facilities, and deliver real-time solutions to customers. You’ll contribute to flagship initiatives like the Precoat Portal and CoilZone, while also helping to modernize our custom ERP system by transitioning from COBOL and Synon to modern technologies such as Go (Golang) and RPG Free. This is a great opportunity for an experienced developer who enjoys solving complex problems, mentoring teammates, and influencing the future direction of technology. You’ll collaborate closely with IT peers, business stakeholders, and leadership to ensure solutions are reliable, scalable, and aligned with strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software development experience, including:
  • IBM i (AS/400): Db2, COBOL, RPG Free, Synon 2E, SQL, CL.
  • Server-side: Go, C#, .NET, Java; scalable APIs and data modeling.
  • Web/Front-end: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and modern UI/UX practices.
  • Full SDLC experience with a track record of delivering enterprise-grade applications.
  • Strong background in application modernization and integrating legacy systems with modern platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, Jira, and DevOps practices (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated testing).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
