The Lead Software Engineer will work closely with data science teams and product owners to build and deliver software solutions leveraging data insights, focusing on risk and fraud detection. This role involves incorporating real-time data processing and analytics, mentoring junior team members, and participating in the full Software Development Lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering, or related field of study.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, or related occupation.
  • Three (3) years of experience in designing, prototyping, and implementing scalable, resilient, and highly available cloud microservices with a focus on risk and fraud detection on AWS.
  • Three (3) years of experience in utilizing a wide range of AWS services, including EC2, EKS, Lambda, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, S3, AuroraDB, and Gluejob to build and deliver software solutions.
  • Three (3) years of experience in identifying and troubleshooting application code-related issues across all environments, utilizing tools including Datadog and Splunk for monitoring and analysis.
  • Three (3) years of experience in developing software utilizing Java, Python, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs to create high-throughput and high-availability cloud anti-fraud services.
  • Three (3) years of experience in designing, developing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure using AWS DynamoDB, AWS AuroraDB, Cassandra, Redis.
  • Three (3) years of experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes to automate deployment processes.
  • Three (3) years of experience in performing automated testing, functional testing, manual testing, performance testing, unit testing, user acceptance testing, and chaos testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Three (3) years of experience in utilizing Agile SDLC, data architecture disciplines.
  • Two (2) years of experience in incorporating Apache Flink and creating Flink job applications for financial data events from streaming services including Kafka and DynamoDB Stream for data processing and analytics.
  • Two (2) years of experience in performing performance testing and chaos testing for Flink jobs, adapting Flink jobs, exporting metrics, and creating alarms for them.
  • Two (2) years of experience in working with Windows and macOS operating systems to develop and deploy software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with data science teams to build features that leverage data insights.
  • Work with product owners on requirements, build, and deliver software based on the emerging fraud trends for the business.
  • Utilize knowledge of cloud technologies and business acumen to understand the business requirements.
  • Incorporate real-time data processing and analytics.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members to enhance their technical skills and understanding of best practices.
  • Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications.
  • Design, prototype, and implement software solutions with a focus on Risk and Fraud Detection.
  • Participate in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules.
  • Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues.
  • Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
  • Up to 10% domestic travel to JPMC sites.
