The Lead Software Engineer (Windows Sys Admin) at L3Harris is responsible for supporting Agile Software Development Engineering teams by managing complex Windows systems administration in secure environments. This role involves integrating with a multidisciplinary team, providing infrastructure services, and ensuring secure operations while mentoring new team members. The position requires a proactive approach to technical challenges and collaboration with various teams to maintain operational excellence.

  • Integrate with a team of multidiscipline, multileveled Systems Administrators supporting Windows, Linux, DevSecOps, and Network operations.
  • Assist Software Engineers by providing Windows infrastructure services in support of development efforts.
  • Partner with the Information Security team to provide secure, hardened, and auditable Windows systems.
  • Plan and document operational processes, configurations, and diagrams required for management, Security operations, and the software teams.
  • Coach, mentor, and train new team members.
  • Assist leadership with business decisions demonstrating and safeguarding the company by assuring that applicable laws and policies are followed.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work/maneuver in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work on-call non-standard hours for outages and maintenance periods.
  • Windows Server and Windows client systems administration in mixed OS environments.
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, ADM Templates experience.
  • Break/fix troubleshooting skills.
  • Provisioning via Windows Deployment Services, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, or similar technologies.
  • Network infrastructure services setup and maintenance of DNS, DHCP.
  • Scripting in batch and PowerShell.
  • Patch management in WSUS/WSUS Offline.
  • System hardening and auditing in various compliance environments.
  • Configuration management with SCOM, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Code repository administration experience.
  • Basic network administration of layer 2/3 switches.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools and experience with cloud platforms.
