This is a full-stack lead role for an engineer who understands the underlying data and how to present it clearly—helping users slice, dice, and explore portfolio, compliance, and operational metrics with confidence. You will lead a small reporting squad while contributing directly to delivery. You’ll partner with product and engineering peers to translate reporting needs into durable datasets, efficient APIs, and high-performing, intuitive dashboards and reports.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of end-to-end features in production systems.
  • Strong proficiency with Angular (v12+), TypeScript, and reactive patterns (RxJS).
  • Demonstrated experience building dashboards, analytics, or reporting applications (charts, grids, exports).
  • Solid SQL skills (SQL Server preferred) with experience in data aggregation, performance tuning, and report-friendly data modeling.
  • Experience designing or consuming REST APIs; ability to collaborate effectively with backend/data teams on contracts and performance.
  • Comfort leading a small team (PM3-level scope): coaching, reviewing work, and driving delivery accountability.
  • Clear communication skills—able to explain tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must have current and ongoing authorization to work in the country of employment without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services, fintech, or investment management software.
  • Knowledge of portfolio analytics concepts (performance, attribution, risk metrics) and time-series visualization (Highcharts).
  • Experience building self-service report builders or visual query tools.
  • Familiarity with printing/PDF generation and Excel export workflows for enterprise reporting.
  • Experience contributing to component libraries or design systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day execution for Reporting work (planning, tasking, reviews) while remaining hands-on with delivery.
  • Design and implement interactive dashboards, charts, and data-rich reports for financial data visualization.
  • Work across the stack: shape report-ready datasets, design efficient APIs, and deliver polished Angular UI experiences.
  • Extend visualization capabilities using Highcharts (drill-down, heatmaps/treemaps, time-series views) and reusable BI components.
  • Build complex grids using AG Grid Enterprise (pivoting, grouping, aggregation, filtering, Excel/PDF export).
  • Partner with data and backend engineers on data modeling, query optimization, and reporting performance for large datasets (100K+ rows).
  • Establish engineering standards for reporting correctness, validation, auditability, and tenant-specific configuration.
  • Implement testing practices (unit and E2E with Playwright) and improve delivery velocity using AI-enabled tooling without sacrificing correctness.
  • Support operational readiness for reporting features (monitoring, logging, triage, and iterative improvements).
