About The Position

As a Lead Software Engineer - Python at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Sector, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Requirements

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Advanced in one or more programming language(s) including Python, RabbitMQ, Cockerroach, React, Django, FastAPI, Flask, Django, and AWS
Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
Practical cloud native experience

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement software solutions to address complex business and technical challenges within the storage product domain.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architect solutions, and deliver products that meet customer needs and business objectives.
Develop secure, high-quality production code and participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure adherence to coding standards.
Identify opportunities to automate and remediate recurring issues to improve operational stability and efficiency.
Manage the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability.
Lead technical sessions with internal teams and external vendors to assess architectural designs and technical solutions for integration.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and technical excellence.
Stay informed about the latest advancements in software engineering, programming languages, and infrastructure technologies.
Champion agile methodologies and practices, driving continuous improvement and innovation across the team.
