We are seeking Full Stack Software Engineers who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies. As a Capital One Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One. Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) comprises many of Capital One's most important enterprise platforms. We play an essential role in establishing practices for building technology solutions across the company, while also delivering capabilities that exemplify those practices. As a member of the Consumer Identity platform team at Capital One, you'll build a modern, intelligent identity platform to deliver secure, seamless, resilient & ubiquitous identity-centric experiences for our customers and partners. This platform transformation with an emphasis on standardization and agility via self-service will enable us to test, launch and learn at a rapid pace. This platform includes everything from customer-facing web and mobile applications to highly-available RESTful services, real time streaming solutions, frameworks with cutting edge new industry standards in the market, internal facing self-service tools, back-end Java based systems and SQL/NoSql databases. All our applications are cloud native and fully automated.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
  • At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree
  • 7+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, TypeScript or Python
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS
  • 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies
  • Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community
  • Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
  • Utilize programming languages like Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, Python and Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services like Docker, frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, Angular and a variety of AWS tools and services
