The Lead Software Engineer for Nike's Design Platform will be responsible for solving complex software engineering challenges to support the development of state-of-the-art tools for product developers and the broader creation community. This role requires collaboration with peers in a fast-paced environment and a strong background in native cloud software engineering.

  • Design, develop, operate, and integrate Nike and partner platforms and applications.
  • Implement API-First solutions for the Nike design community.
  • Drive technical priorities and define engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with peers and translate business problems into technical solutions.
  • Work with the Global Technology organization on internal product creation tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on industry software development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with modern software architectural principles and patterns (REST, domain-driven design, microservices).
  • 3+ years of experience with distributed cloud systems technologies (node.js, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, or Google Cloud/Azure equivalents).
  • Experience with front-end web application technologies (JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, Vue, React/Redux).
  • Experience with continuous deployment and automated testing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with peers and cross-functional partners.
  • Experience in a technical leadership role on agile teams in a product model.
  • Experience developing, monitoring, and supporting highly available microservices/lambdas and applications.
  • Industry experience in design, digital asset management, and color science.
