About The Position

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a motivated and experienced Database Engineer to join our dynamic ATLAS systems team for Space Domain projects. Requirements

  • Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience with relational and dimensional data modeling.
  • Experience in Agile Software Development processes and methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban.

Nice To Haves

  • MCSE/MCSA certifications preferred.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments.
  • Extensive experience with database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle).
  • Experience in maintaining production-level systems.
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure).
  • DoD 8570 compliant, CompTIA Security+ certification.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team using Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) supporting the delivery of high-quality software solutions for government systems.
  • Strong command of SQL and experience administering and developing relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) as well as NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
  • Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
  • Optimize database performance and conduct system tuning.
  • Diagnose and resolve database errors and performance issues.
  • Provide on-site support and monitoring for classified systems, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
  • Offer 24/7 on-call support to address urgent issues.
  • Develop, upgrade, and troubleshoot mission-specific database updates.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
