About The Position

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology (DEEP&T) is focused on creating magical viewing experiences and transforming Disney's media business. The Ad Serving Engineering organization is responsible for building and maintaining a high-performance, distributed, microservice-based Digital Advertising Platform that manages digital advertising campaigns across Disney's online properties. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will help deliver scalable, maintainable, and testable software while collaborating with product teams and mentoring other engineers.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science / Engineering or relevant work experience
• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• Advanced proficiency with Java, including understanding heap, multi-threading, and profiling
• Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills
• Great communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

Nice To Haves

• Comprehensive experience with SpringBoot and related Spring projects
• Experience with non-relational database technologies such as DynamoDB
• Familiarity with Redis and/or MemCache
• Experience with Apache Kafka and/or Kinesis
• Knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms
• Experience with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Background in the Ad Tech industry

Responsibilities

• Writing and reviewing code and tests
• Participating in a weekly-rotating On-Call support schedule
• Reading requirements documentation and translating it into implementation tickets
• Leading the team through execution of projects
• Defining, reviewing, and documenting software and system designs
• Enhancing systems' observability with metrics, monitors, and alerts
• Delegating tasks to team members when needed
