We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in large-scale cloud development and a strong background in the Power and Electrical domain. This role requires hands-on experience with Distributed Energy Resources (DER), microgrids, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

  • Lead the architectural design and development of complex software systems for large-scale cloud-based applications within the power and electrical industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver innovative software solutions that integrate DER, microgrids, and BESS.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team, ensuring best practices and high standards in software architecture.
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure solutions to meet the evolving requirements of the energy industry.
  • Conduct technology evaluations and make strategic decisions on software architecture and tools to ensure scalability and performance.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into technical requirements and solutions.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in cloud development and energy technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • US PERSON REQUIREMENTS: Due to compliance with US export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a US Person which is defined as a US citizen, US permanent resident, or have protected status In the US under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.
  • YOU MUST HAVE 15 or more years of experience as a Software Architect with a strong background in large-scale cloud development.
  • 10 or more years’ experience in the Power and Electrical domain, with hands on development experience on EPMS system.
  • Hands on experience with microgrid concepts, including islanding operation, grid-connected operation, energy management, control strategies, and power flow management within a microgrid system.
  • Familiarity of microgrid control systems and automation technologies, such as supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, energy management
  • In depth understanding of power electronics and their application in renewable energy systems and microgrids, including inverters, converters, and other power electronic devices to interface and control DER’s.
  • Prior experience with protection & control design concepts, including one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring, etc.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with IoT, data analytics, and real-time systems is a plus
