This position directs the daily workflow for a small team under the direction of the site lead and/or supervisor, enabling the team to consistently deliver high levels of customer service in support of our contractual obligations. The role may oversee service offerings including but not limited to: order/stockroom/dock management, procurement, material handling, chemical tracking, glass wash, media/reagent preparation, and cell culture support operations. The Lead Site Specialist will effectively lead a diverse cross-functional team of on-site lab specialists and is responsible for complete employee lifecycle management, including new hire selection, identification of training needs and solutions, coordinating development training, and employee performance evaluations. They will deliver on committed contractual scope of work, assist with tracking business metrics, and act as a liaison between the customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific. The specialist will coordinate onsite vendor escorting and customer visits as the site subject-matter expert, identify savings and opportunities, implement SOPs, conduct site audits, and assist with completion of annual physical inventory. They will drive a process improvement culture by supporting Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives and represent Thermo Fisher Scientific professionally and positively at all times. The role also involves supporting safety programs such as hazard identification, inspections, and incident reporting/investigations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of progressive, proven experience required.
  • Experience working in Good x Practice (GxP) environment.
  • International Air Transport Association (IATA)/ U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Goods certification required.
  • Leadership abilities and interpersonal skills are required to lead and enhance team culture.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's values, including confidentiality.
  • Computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software.
  • Strong analytical abilities to problem solve, make timely decisions, re-balance staff workloads, and coordinate multiple overlapping priorities, while functioning in a fast-paced work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in a related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.
  • Military Service/Training in lieu of a degree may also be considered.
  • Knowledge of OSHA General Industry requirements are also a plus.

  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.
