About The Position

The Lead Shipper/Receiver provides daily operational leadership for shipping and receiving activities. This role coordinates workflow, prioritizes tasks, and ensures execution consistency across the team. This role drives consistency, accountability, and communication across shipping, receiving, and stockroom interfaces.

Requirements

6-8+ years of relevant experience
Demonstrated leadership in operations
Strong understanding of inventory control, material flow and logistics
Experience coordinating teams and improving processes
Prior work experience within an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/Material Requirements Planning (MRP) environment required

Nice To Haves

Experience with import/export regulations
Epicor ERP experience
DOT Hazardous Materials Certification, CFR 49 parts 100-185.

Responsibilities

Coordinate daily shipping and receiving tasks and communicate staffing or coverage needs to supervisor/manager.
Set priorities based on site production schedules, customer needs, and shipment deadlines
Ensure timely and accurate execution of shipments and receipts
Act as first point of escalation for operational issues
Drive adherence to standard processes and continuous improvement
Lead onboarding, training and development of team members; coordinate training needs
Partner with management to improve workflows, reduce errors and delays, standardize practices across shifts
Support performance tracking and reinforce adherence to daily expectations and standard work
Communicate daily status, risks, and constraints to Production, Supply Chain, and leadership
Ensure alignment between stockroom, shipping, and receiving activities
Maintain organized work areas and proper material storage
Follow established GMP guidelines; ensure all documentation is accurate and properly maintained
Ensure site-level compliance with DOT HazMat regulations and support training, audits, and process adherence
Cross-train and backup material control, assist with cycle counting
Other duties as assigned.
