About The Position

The Lead Setup Technician plays a critical role in the manufacturing of dietary supplements, combining leadership and technical expertise to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production. This position is responsible for leading production activities, overseeing machine setups, and guiding operators while prioritizing safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The work schedule is Monday-Thursday 2:30 PM – 12:30 AM but may involve work on other shifts/days as part of overtime. In this role you'll make an impact by: Leading and mentoring machine operators to achieve production targets and uphold quality standards. Communicating production goals, daily expectations, and process changes to the team. Performing efficient machine setups, changeovers, and adjustments for various dietary supplement products. Monitoring equipment operations, ensuring all machines run safely and efficiently within specifications. Diagnosing and resolve equipment malfunctions, performing routine and preventive maintenance as needed. Ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and maintain accurate documentation for setups, maintenance, and production batches. Promoting and enforcing safety protocols, monitor product quality, and train team members on procedures. Identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with cross-functional teams for operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a food, dietary supplement, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with FDA regulations, GMP, and 21 CFR Part 111 compliance.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skill
  • Ability to use SAP or similar MRP systems for inventory and production management.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SMED and lean principles preferred.
