Lead 1 - Setup Technician - 2790 Lead and mentor a team in installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining complex setups for dies, molds, tooling, and machinery in a designated department(s).

Requirements

  • Perform work under minimal supervision
  • Microsoft Excel Intermediate
  • Advanced blueprint reading
  • Handle complex issues and problems and refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Possess comprehensive working knowledge of subject matter
  • 8 to 10 years of tool and die, and/or set up experience.
  • Experience driving powered industrial equipment
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group

  • Previous experience leading a team desired.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tests for completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications
  • Serves as a go-to resource for complex problem solving and technical guidance
  • Perform complex tasks related to set-up, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Assist in operating machinery for multiple departments as needed
  • Inspect materials, final products, and machinery for defects
  • Implement process improvement initiatives in assigned departments
  • Ensure that departments’ output meets organizational expectation in scrap reduction, cost reduction, and downtime reduction
  • Plans work, manages materials, documents progress, and ensures project completion
  • Guide the manufacturing/operations team in interpreting existing processes and policies and assist in the development of efficiencies or process improvements
  • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
