This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located at customer's site. Work to be performed in Dahlgren, VA. The AT&T will provide comprehensive Information Technology Infrastructure Support Services to the US Navy, delivering asset management, network operations, system design and configuration, and facility support to ensure effective day-to-day operations at several Naval Bases. AT&T has an opening for a Lead Senior Infrastructure Design Engineer to design, implement, and maintain advanced network infrastructure in support of the Navy. This position will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, troubleshoot complex performance issues, and coordinate with cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver mission-critical connectivity across Naval operations.

Requirements

  • 6 years of professional work and leadership experience in relation to network areas such as landlines, cellphones, voice, video and data networks; and wireless communications.
  • Experience in Visio and AutoCAD as well as more complex network engineering tasks.
  • Experience in systems studies including planning, design, development, and modifications of existing of planned voice and data communications network systems and subsystems.

Nice To Haves

  • This position is required to have a Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI), Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification. This certificate must be obtained no later than ninety (90) days after Task Order award

Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, and maintains an organization's network infrastructure.
  • Architects complex network systems that support business operations, including LAN, WAN, and cloud-based environments.
  • Evaluates emerging technologies, planning upgrades, and ensuring that network solutions align with strategic goals.
  • Oversees the configuration and deployment of networking hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot advanced issues, and implement security protocols to safeguard against threats.
  • Mentor junior engineers, delegate tasks, and provide technical guidance to ensure the team operates efficiently.
  • Manage network-related projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams and vendors to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
