About The Position

Position Summary: The Lead Security Officer is the primary point of contact for all on-duty Security Guards working to provide a security presence in and around the warehouse facility. Additionally, this role is the primary contact for any contract security providers engaged by the company. Primary Accountabilities: Duties performed as Lead Security Officer: Conduct daily stand up meetings with the Security team. Create and post weekly schedules for the team. Assign areas for officers to patrol and present a list of potential problems or suspect employees officers should be on the lookout for. Complete weekly/monthly safety checks – fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, etc.; ensure all security systems, intrusion points and burglar alarms and CCTV are working properly. Complete regular security inspections and audits on camera logs, random security check logs, daily activity reports and safety equipment inspections. Send out daily reporting via email. Assist Supervisor with interviewing candidates for Security Officer. Train all new security team members on all security protocols. Work with staff to develop and enhance safety plans; lead periodic safety drills for employees. Monitor staff by patrolling with them. May perform any / all of the duties assigned to a Security Officer: Meet, escort, and observe visitors while they are in the facility. Monitor facility access points at shift changes, break times, and lunch times. Perform daily surveillance from the Security Monitoring Center; conduct routine patrols as assigned. Look out for suspicious persons, vandalism or hazards; perform random and scheduled security and pocket checks as assigned. Respond to alarms and distress calls. Report incidents and infractions to Leadership and Human Resources. Monitor and sign out destruction trucks. Act as a witness on site for loading of trucks. Accompany specified destruction trucks from the warehouse to the incinerator. Act as a witness at the incinerator for specified trucks. Prepare Daily Activity Reports. Communicate with Leads, Supervisors, Managers, and Clients regarding security related issues, concerns, and matters. Conduct yourself at all times in a professional manner. Follow all safety and facility rules. Wear issued and approved security uniforms at all times while on the job. Additional Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 4-6 years 5+ years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the major responsibilities/essential functions of the position required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully execute multiple tasks simultaneously, works efficiently, and meet deadlines in an atmosphere of frequent interruptions
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State
  • Must possess valid driver's license required
