About The Position

We are hiring a Lead Security Officer to support daily security operations at our Westside Jacksonville facility. This is a hands-on position for a dependable and experienced officer who can lead by example, guide others on shift, and ensure responsibilities are carried out consistently. This role does not include formal supervision but serves as the primary point of contact during assigned shifts.

Requirements

• Valid Florida Class D Security License (Required)
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 to 3+ year of experience in a security role
• Dependable and detail-oriented with solid communication skills
• Comfortable with mobile patrol tools, checkpoint tracking, and email
• All candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and be willing to submit to a national background check.

Nice To Haves

• First Aid/CPR/AED (preferred or willing to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Act as the go-to person for fellow officers during the shift.
• Serve as a backup for the security officer during their absence.
• Ensure patrols, access control, and post duties are completed by officers.
• Assist in training and guiding new officers on procedures.
• Communicate daily updates and incidents to site leadership.
• Help maintain accurate shift logs and documentation.
• Answer calls and monitor email communications.
• Provide front desk coverage: greet visitors and enforce site access rules.
• Lock/unlock designated areas daily at 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM .
• Ensure proper documentation for waste pickups and locker usage.
• Maintain up-to-date procedures in the security manual.
• Use checkpoint systems to track patrol activity and guard metrics.
• Patrol facility grounds and monitor surveillance systems.
• Respond to theft, safety threats, and medical situations.
• Support fire drills , pipe burst response , and hurricane procedures .
• Assist during lockdown events per training.
• First aid/CPR when needed (certification preferred).
• Operate golf carts for perimeter checks and parking enforcement.
