About The Position

The Lead Security Analyst at Kean University is responsible for safeguarding the University's digital assets through proactive threat monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and ensuring security compliance. This role involves mentoring junior analysts and requires strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and effective communication across teams. The position is not remote and requires physical presence on campus, with a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
  • Three or more years of professional experience in IT, network security, endpoint protection, and/or incident response.
  • Proficiency in vulnerability management, penetration testing, and security tool administration (e.g., SIEM, IDS, EDR).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA).
  • Excellent mentorship, leadership, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for process automation.
