About The Position

About this role: The Claims and Recovery team sits within TCOO and plays an important part in delivering reliable, scalable technology that supports key operational processes. To support our continued modernization and improve alignment across technology and business partners, we are adding a Lead Scrum Master who will help accelerate delivery, strengthen Agile practices, and enhance team collaboration. In this role, you will guide teams through Agile frameworks, remove impediments, and help maintain focus on delivering high‑value outcomes. You will work closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams to ensure priorities are clear, dependencies are managed, and delivery is predictable. The group is currently engaged in multiple high‑visibility initiatives requiring strong facilitation, structured communication, and a steady commitment to continuous improvement. In this role, you will: Manage and develop Scaled Agile portfolios of the highest complexity Guide the teams to follow Agile and Scrum practices to promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint Optimize scrum team velocity to identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance Oversee systemic impediments to team agility and guide the teams on methods to escalate Deliver capabilities using agile practices while following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes to ensure all risk, security, and development requirements are met Partner with discipline managers to convey their concerns to scrum teams about governance policies and adherence to corporate standards Collaborate with product owners, program or project managers to communicate delivery of work product from the teams and escalate key risks and issues impeding scrum team effectiveness Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals Interact with internal customers Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements Train other Scrum Masters and serve as a mentor to less experienced staff

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Agile Scrum Master experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Responsibilities

  • Scrum Framework Stewardship: Ensure the Scrum framework is understood, adopted, and consistently followed
  • Facilitate Scrum Events: Lead all Scrum ceremonies—Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives—ensuring they are time‑boxed, productive, and aligned to Agile principles
  • Team Enablement & Coaching: Coach the Scrum Team toward self‑management and cross‑functionality; support the delivery of high‑value increments that meet the Definition of Done
  • Remove Impediments: Identify and eliminate barriers to progress; collaborate across teams and functions to resolve issues impacting delivery
  • Flow Metrics & Continuous Improvement: Use flow metrics (cycle time, throughput, WIP, aging items) to visualize work, identify bottlenecks, and improve predictability and value delivery
  • Cross‑Team & Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate alignment across Scrum Teams and stakeholders, manage dependencies, and ensure consistent, transparent communication
  • Support Multiple Teams: Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Scrum Teams, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery discipline
  • Organizational Coaching: Train and coach the broader organization on Scrum and Agile practices; partner with leadership to remove organizational impediments and support Agile transformation efforts
