The Lead School Day Therapist is also res p onsible for providing the clinical support necessary for implementation of evidence based therapeutic services with school day therapists they supervise over all CARES campuses. The Lead School Day Therapist will ensure quality student care through the establishment of a comprehensive therapeutic relationship with students and families based on the provision of individual, family a nd group psychotherapy.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a behavioral health field.
  • LPC or LCSW with a minimum of three years' experience.
  • Valid Mississippi Licensed in a mental health field required.
  • Demonstrated competence working with families and youth.
  • Demonstrated competence supervising others.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English, and be able to communicate in a therapeutic and professional manner.
  • Occasional travel is required.
  • Must have a valid Mississippi driver's license, a good driving record, proof of legally appropriate auto liability insurance, and must be willing to use personal vehicle for organization business.

Responsibilities

  • Meet new students on the day of admission to School Day Program.
  • Conduct individual therapy session(s) as specified by IEP/Care Plan.
  • Conduct Family Sessions as specified by IEP/Care Plan.
  • Conduct group therapy sessions as specified by IEP/Care Plan.
  • Act as a member of the IEP/Care Plan committee with the School District and families, DHS, and other community based programs and the Cares school.
  • Assist in the coordination of the Discharge/Aftercare plan with each student.
  • Complete initial assessment as specified by IEP/Care Plan, Trauma Screening, Behavioral Health Advance Directive and Psychosocial Assessment on each assigned student by admissions date or as early as possible.
  • Document the results of all therapeutic sessions in the appropriate student chart within 48 hours.
  • Attend IEP/Care Team meetings and communicate progress/regression and needs of assigned clients to the team.
  • Consult teachers and support staff regarding behavior plans and progress/regression in the classroom.
  • Complete IEP/Care Plan review quarterly on all assigned clients.
  • Complete IEP/Care Plans annually and make quarterly and/or as needed revisions.
  • Work with IEP/Care Plan team to coordinate the transition process of each student.
  • Complete Aftercare Plan prior to each student's last week of treatment in conjunction with student, IEP team, and family/guardian district.
  • Complete a Discharge Summary on each student within ten calendar days of discharge.
  • Participate in evaluations of the school therapists in conjunction with each school principal.
  • Conducts clinical supervision with School Day therapists monthly.
  • Available for case consultation and review as needed for the clinical staff.
  • Works in conjunction with the principal to ensure all staff adhere to policies, manual, and ethical standards.
  • Ensure clinical staff are conducting evidence-based clinical interventions and ensuring safety of youth in their care.
  • Conduct clinical trainings as needed or assigned.
  • Perform monthly chart audits of all assigned students to assure the appropriate and timely completion of all documentation.
  • Attend weekly supervisory sessions with the principal.
  • Maintain professional licensure and present proof of licensure renewal.
  • Participate in staff training and education program as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
