About The Position

Equitable is looking for a Lead SAP Data Engineer to oversee data integration activities within our general ledger, financial products subledger, and peripheral systems. You’ll join a technology group that’s tightly coupled with our finance team to automate business processes and unlock capacity for enhanced analytics and new ideas. This position offers a flexible work schedule: it may be fully remote/hybrid. If you are located near one of our offices (e.g., Charlotte, NC; Syracuse, NY), a hybrid schedule with 2–3 days on-site per week is expected to foster collaboration and connection. The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Requirements

Advanced development experience with SAP Native HANA
Proficiency in Native HANA SQL
Expertise in Smart Data Integration (SDI) – Flowgraphs & Procedures
Experience with Smart Data Access (SDA)
Knowledge of Calculation Views and Analytic Views
Deep understanding of Financial Accounting for Life & Annuity Insurances
Experience in Ledger and Sub-Ledger Data Analysis
Knowledge of concept and principles of agile methodology; ability to apply appropriate agile approaches in the processes of software development and delivery.
Knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
Knowledge of documentation architecture and design; ability to build efficient processes, use appropriate tools and technique, and create complete documentation portfolios for software or technology products.
Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.
Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
Knowledge of technical writing; ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines or documents on standards, processes and applications.

Nice To Haves

Experience with SAP Analysis for Office, SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ), and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
Familiarity with Financial Product Subledger (FPSL)
Exposure to SAP BW for HANA
Working knowledge of ABAP and Core Data Services (CDS) Views

Responsibilities

Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and data flows.
Lead the design, development, and deployment of new applications and system enhancements in partnership with finance teams.
Analyze existing financial processes to identify areas for improvement and recommend effective solutions.
Facilitate system testing, including the creation of test plans and coordination of User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
Offer ongoing support and troubleshooting for data-related issues across financial systems.
