About The Position

Penske Logistics is seeking a Lead Sanitation Worker to join their team. This role is ideal for safety-conscious individuals with a positive attitude who wish to excel in a warehouse environment. The position involves leading a team of up to 6 associates and performing various sanitation duties to maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to food safety standards. Key responsibilities include cleaning surfaces, emptying trash, handling spills, and maintaining daily sanitation logs. The role requires the ability to work independently, multi-task, and demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills. It is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and responsibility for one's own safety and the safety of others.

Requirements

Prior warehouse experience required
Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required
Ability to work independently, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, excellent with numbers and time management skills required
Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required
Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required
Ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others

Responsibilities

Ability to lead a team of up to 6 associates
Taking attendance
Proficient in mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, and vacuuming surfaces
Empties trash bins and cleans trash area daily; operates trash compactor when applicable
Pulls pallets and clean/scrubs product bays on a rotating basis
Clean up any spills or breakages to the inventoried product; recoup damages and determine if resalable or must be disposed of per food safety standards and requirements
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Clean other areas of the warehouse and offices, including break rooms, restrooms, offices, etc.
Complete daily sanitation logs
Utilize chemicals, detergents, and cleaning equipment
Operate scrubber and pallet jacks if required to perform duties
Complies with all safety requirements
Able to identify and address cleanliness and sanitation issues
Escalate issues timely and directly to supervisor
Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
