About The Position

The Lead Sanitation Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that all sanitation tasks are completed efficiently and in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role acts as a hands-on leader, supporting the Sanitation Supervisor or Manager by guiding sanitation team members, monitoring daily operations, and ensuring cleanliness and food safety standards are consistently met. Work Environment: All areas of the plant, sometimes including the front offices and conference areas. These areas include but are not limited to the following areas. All Zone 1 Areas – Direct Food Contact Surfaces All Zone 2 Areas – Indirect Food Contact Surfaces All Zone 3 Areas – Adjacent to Food Contact Surfaces Zone 4 Areas – Warehouse, Shipping and Receiving Dock, Entryways, Battery Areas, Utility Areas and Outside Grounds.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing and equipment operations (food manufacturing experience preferred)
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.

Responsibilities

  • Continually monitor the production areas and ensure the enforcement of all safety protocols.
  • Follow and enforce all OSHA Safety Regulations and Safety Rules.
  • Report safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
  • Continually monitor the production areas and ensure the enforcement of all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as detailed by Snack Craft.
  • Understanding HACCP, FDA, and OSHA regulations; basic understanding of inventory methods.
  • Understands testing for chemical concentrations, COP and CIP systems, and familiarity with refractometers.
  • Conduct and complete sanitation tasks assigned via the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), Daily Housekeeping, and Standard of Work (SOW) programs.
  • Ensure that waste collection stations are monitored and refreshed often enough so as not to pose a risk to personnel, process, or food products.
  • Ensure that spills are promptly and properly corrected in a manner that does not pose a risk to personnel, process, or food products.
  • Ensure that utensils and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are routinely checked, cleaned, sanitized, and restocked to ensure personnel have the tools they need to conduct functions in a sanitary and safe manner.
  • Throughout the course of their daily work, continually look for GMP violations and correct them immediately when noted.
  • Communicate with other personnel as a coach and aid in sanitary operations.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate production and sanitation team while conducting cleaning activities.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate sanitation team members with day-to-day sanitation activities.
  • Assist in training other staff members on the requirements/procedures for all levels of clean.
  • Oversee the safe and proper receipt, transport, dilution, distribution, and use of all cleaning chemical products.
  • Ensure that cleaning chemicals are always properly labeled, stored, and disposed of appropriately.
  • Identify any items that could potentially cause a pest issue and communicate concerns to immediate supervisor or manager.
  • Assist in the inspection for capture and proper removal of pests when they are present.
  • Conduct specific washroom or other cleaning activities as assigned.
  • Manage cleaning paperwork to and from the line with all documentation completed. Turn in to Supervisor/Manager.
  • Conduct daily pre-operational inspections.
  • Record work completed for review/audit purposes.
  • Must have clean clothing and show good personal hygiene.
  • Make suggestions for continuous improvements.
