About The Position

Responsible for overseeing the Sanitation Specialist in providing cleaning services and for the cleaning of all assigned public Casino complex on a continual basis ensuring adherence to approved BlueWater Resort & Casino policies, procedures and standards. Ensure customer safety during the reopening of BlueWater Resort & Casino post Covid-19, the Lead Sanitation Specialist must be a self-starter who understands the intent of their responsibilities: to create a safe and sanitary environment for BlueWater Resort & Casino. As the front line of defense against Covid-19 for BlueWater customers, this person’s duties include but are not limited to using CDC and approved sanitizers and disinfectants to sanitize hard surfaces throughout the space, clearing away any items touched by guests, and maintaining a log of bathroom sanitation.

Requirements

Speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and fellow team members.
A high level understanding of interpersonal skills to productively deal with business contacts and team members at all levels of the company.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Excellent time management, problem solving and organizational skills are a must.
Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
Attend and participate in meetings in order to be informed of new rules, regulations and procedures and to discuss scheduling and/or other concerns of the Hotel and/or department.

High School Diploma/GED; prior experience in housekeeping or related field will waive education requirements. Must enjoy public contact. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, reaching up to 8-hour shifts. Must be able to adhere to all BlueWater Resort & Casino and CDC guidelines in regards to the wearing of PPE (including but not limited to a mask and gloves). Must attend in-house comprehensive cleaning and disinfecting training on COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.

Responsibilities

Informs Sanitation Specialist of areas that they will be responsible for.
Maintain full responsibility for the sanitation of all public and back of house spaces, including Casino floor, slot floor high traffic areas, public restrooms, elevators, main corridors, showroom, retail, high limit room, employee dining room restrooms, all back of the house areas and any other areas that need cleaning including outside doors. By conducting routine and hourly inspections and cleaning rounds. This will include but isn’t limited to: Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces between heavy use within their scope of work.
Ensure all sanitation and hygiene supplies are always well-stocked for both staff and guests.
Assist guests as needed in a professional manner; deliver towels, pillows, etc., to guest’s room when needed.
Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor.
Cleans rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture.
Dusts furniture and equipment.
Polishes metalwork.
Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
Replenishes bathroom supplies.
Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
All other duties as assigned (non-gaming functions and issued gaming license permitting).
