Lead Roving Technician
About The Position
The Lead Roving Technician will perform Method 21 Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) monitoring, Management of Change (MOC) evaluations, and leak rechecks at various industrial facilities throughout the Greater Houston area. This role requires providing responsive on-site support and cross-location assistance as operational demands dictate. The technician is expected to maintain the highest standards of integrity in monitoring practices and documentation to ensure accuracy, transparency, and regulatory compliance. Punctuality and dependability are crucial for contributing to operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
Requirements
- Ability to perform Method 21 Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) monitoring
- Ability to perform Management of Change (MOC) evaluations
- Ability to perform leak rechecks
- Ability to provide responsive on-site support and cross-location assistance

- Demonstrate unwavering punctuality and dependability
- Ability to monitor and troubleshoot TVA
- Ability to calibrate TVA and enter data into handheld & calibration book
- Ability to perform comparative audits
- Ability to perform drift assessments
- Ability to perform precision calibrations and document proper paperwork
- Ability to document changes (size, type, location, sequence changes)
- Ability to report Audio Visual Olfactory (AVO), Note Plug (NP), & Open-Ended Line (OEL) to Site Supervisor (SS) and Operations
- Ability to note Missing Tags (MT) on handheld device and/or report large numbers of Missing Tags (MT) to Site Supervisor (SS)
- Ability to note Drill &Taps in handheld device
- Ability to report new or removed components to Site Supervisor (SS)
- Ability to complete Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
- Ability to complete daily paperwork (job summary, change forms, retire forms, walk down forms, leak sheets, blue tags, etc.,)
- Ability to lead and help peers in the field
Responsibilities
- Daily Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) Component monitoring
- Inventory maintenance
- Emission reduction
- Repair activities at customer work sites required to comply with Federal, State and/or local fugitive air emission regulations
- Monitoring and troubleshooting the TVA
- Calibration of TVA (entering data into handheld & in calibration book)
- Perform comparative audits as directed by supervisor
- Performing drift assessments (entering data into calibration book)
- Precision calibrations (performing & documenting proper paperwork)
- Documenting changes (size, type, location, sequence changes)
- Reporting Audio Visual Olfactory (AVO), Note Plug (NP), & Open-Ended Line (OEL) to Site Supervisor (SS) and Operations
- Noting Missing Tags (MT) on handheld device and/or reporting large number of Missing Tags (MT) to Site Supervisor (SS)
- Noting Drill &Taps in handheld device
- Reporting new or removed components to Site Supervisor (SS)
- Completing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
- Completing daily paperwork (job summary, change forms, retire forms, walk down forms, leak sheets, blue tags, etc.,)
- Ability to lead and help peers in the field
