The Nike Explore Team's (NXT) Footwear Engineering and Manufacturing group invents and develops scalable, digitally driven methods of make that enable product innovation, simplify manufacturing and reduce carbon through robust engineering and product integration.

  • Work in a world-class R D facility with a dedicated machine shop, testing lab and product creation team.
  • Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Process Engineers, and Technicians as core-team members.
  • Research new hardware, software, and controls tools to become a subject matter expert.
  • Plan and execute strategies that leverage expertise and develop team members.
  • Act as an automation knowledge base and resource to multiple concurrent programs.
  • Translate program objectives into machine requirements and develop solutions.
  • Design and build machine prototypes to test ideas and provide a platform for Process Engineers.
  • Lead machine landscaping activities for potential off-the-shelf components and sub-systems.
  • Partner with Business Development, Legal, and Procurement functions to draft agreements.
  • Troubleshoot and upgrade systems in development, particularly software and controls components.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics or a related field.
  • 7+ years of applied experience in system design, integration of hardware solutions, robotics, or other mechatronics roles.
  • Experience as a technical lead within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Comfortable with hands-on fabrication and assembly.
  • Experience programming industrial robots (ABB a plus).
  • Experience programming microcomputers and microcontrollers.
  • Experience in one or more programming languages (Python or C++ a plus).
  • Experience with System Analysis (MATLAB a plus).
  • Software version control experience a plus.
  • Computer vision experience a plus.
