About The Position

The ACCS Lead Residential Counselor provides direct service to adults with mental health conditions in a GLE/SIE residential setting. The ACCS Lead Residential Counselor helps persons served in the residences to overcome barriers to, and prepare for, living independently. The ACCS Lead Residential Counselor Implements Treatment Plan support interventions as coached and supported by Team LPHA Clinician. In addition, the ACCS Lead Residential Counselor assumes administrative officer roles in the program to support the Program Director in performance of their duties and responsibilities. The ACCS Lead Residential Counselor also: Liaisons with families as needed. Supports Persons Served in obtaining and understanding medical and psychiatric care as needed. Administers medications following Medication Administration Program (MAP) policies and procedures. Provides crisis interventions when needed. Provides physical site maintenance. Ensures a safe, comfortable and clean environment. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate's degree in a human service discipline preferred.
  • One year as a residential counselor in a setting working with Persons Served facing mental health challenges preferred.
  • One to two years of job-specific experience in the human services field preferred.
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions
  • Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a current, valid, US drivers' license for at least 6 months.
  • Must become CPR, First Aid certified within 2 weeks of employment and MAP certified within 150 days of employment.
  • All candidates must be able to successfully pass a CORI, reference, multi-state background and driving record check.
