About The Position

Franciscan Health Dyer Campus 24 Joliet St Dyer, Indiana 46311 Our residential care center helps patients learn age-appropriate social, emotional and intellectual behaviors. The residential advisor plays an important role in that process. Developing programs that meet the needs of patients and their families. Teaching and nurturing social skills. Leading directed activities to create a positive environment. These are just some of the important tasks performed by our residential advisors. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Coordinate and draft employee shift schedules, ensuring adequate staffing coverage is available at all times. Notify the manager of any physician, staff, patient, family, or interdepartmental conflicts, as well as immediate notification of safety issues. De-escalate situations involving agitated or aggressive residents to prevent behavioral-based safety hazards using established principles in de-escalation, including potential therapeutic holds. Interpret and facilitate interaction amongst group members to encourage trust, feelings of mutual support, greater self-awareness and personal growth. Closely monitor and adhere to patient/resident treatment plans in the delivery of care. Employ adaptive counseling techniques to ensure that all residents are provided with services within a context of cultural and intellectual understanding and competence. Monitor and assess changes in the tone and quality of the therapeutic milieu, and address potential concerns that threaten residents' optimal safety, healing, and supportive environment. Coordinate Residential Advisor assignments. Successfully pass Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Service, Psychology, Social Work, or related field - Required

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years Social Services - Preferred
