About The Position

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Lead Registered Nurse to join our team at Birmingham Heart Clinic ASC in Birmingham, AL Responsibilities: Develop proper clinical procedures that ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality. Develop appropriate admission and discharge procedures and ensure that pre-admission criteria are appropriately met. Research, prepare cost reduction proposals, and implement approved suggestions. Evaluate ongoing patient care, escalating matters of concern to the ASC Director. Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure personnel policy development and communication to staff to achieve consistency in labor and employee relations. Serve as resource and role model for staff. Plan, evaluate, recommend, and implement new initiatives when appropriate. Monitor, coach, develop, and evaluate the performance of staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with applicable performance standards. Assure compliance with all Clinic policies and procedures and governmental regulations pertaining to: Controlled substances and legend drugs, including sample medications. Infection control Patient confidentiality CPR, ACLS, safety and risk management in collaboration with Safety Officer and Infection Preventionist/Risk manager. Quality Improvement and quality assurance in collaboration with the Director of Quality Professional licensure LDH, Medicare, AAAHC, AORN and all other voluntary and regulatory requirements. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, employees, managers, and physicians. Assist with the development of patient education material. Support and promote a positive image of TDC when dealing with patients and others inside and outside the organization. Monitor patient service feedback and ensure complaints and service issues are resolved. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a current license or valid permit to practice in state where ASC is located.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Saving (ACLS) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) are required.
  • RN degree from an accredited school, preferably with a Baccalaureate or master’s degree in nursing or health care administration
  • Minimum 2 years’ nursing management experience, preferably in cardiac Cath lab setting

Nice To Haves

  • Cardiovascular certifications such as CVRN II or higher, CCRN, RCIS, and RCES are preferred.
